Brand History
Flor de Caña distillery, nestled in the heart of Nicaragua, stands as a beacon of tradition, quality, and sustainability in the world of rum production. With a rich history dating back more than a century, this esteemed distillery has mastered the art of crafting exceptional rum, earning the admiration of connoisseurs worldwide.
The story of Flor de Caña begins in 1890, when Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa founded the Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua in the town of Chichigalpa. Drawing inspiration from the fertile volcanic soils and pristine waters of Nicaragua, Pellas Canessa set out to create a rum that would reflect the unique terroir of the region. Thus, Flor de Caña was born, named after the flourishing sugarcane fields ('flor de caña' translates to 'flower of the sugarcane') that blanket the Nicaraguan landscape.
Over the decades, Flor de Caña has remained steadfast in its commitment to quality and craftsmanship. The distillery's meticulous production process begins with hand-harvested sugarcane, carefully selected for its purity and flavor. This sugarcane is then transformed into molasses, the cornerstone ingredient in Flor de Caña's exquisite rums.
What sets Flor de Caña apart is not only its dedication to tradition but also its forward-thinking...
